On a beautiful summer afternoon, driving to the countryside can really set your mind free. A calm surrounding is exactly what my heart desires after a stressful time in the city. Every now and then everyone needs to be in a peaceful place, to clear their mind. A place where we can can spend time to think about all our dreams and hopes.
Picnicking is one of my favorite summer activities for this. Packing all kinds of snacks for my huge picnic-basket is a great way to start getting excited. Luckily, I live close to the countryside. It requires only a brief drive to reach such a idyllic location. It feels so romantic, almost nostalgic! Like something that was plucked from an epic, black and white, love movie from the 50s.
I love the romantic skirt Audrey Hepburn showed the world in ‘Roman Holiday’. I wish I could find a similar one for my wardrobe (please let me know if you do). For this picnic outfit I decided on a pair of culottes, for a comfortable look. I added some sandals, a vintage hat and a pair of classic sunglasses.
