Follow me around: Fort Myers, Sanibel and Naples

Traveling through Florida at this time of the year lightens up my winter mood. It is getting colder and colder in Europe but this side of the world still shows signs of summer. The beaches of Fort Myers, Sanibel and Naples impressed me more than all other beaches in Florida. The soft white sand and beautiful water make for a real Caribbean feeling.

Sunrise at the beach of Sanibel Island reminds me of paradise. This part of Florida is the best for a relaxing holiday. A walk on the beach or a stroll through the beautiful nature, this island is absolutely worth the visit.

Rise and shine! Getting up early in the morning and heading to the beach definitely pays off. Seeing the sunrise, spotting some dolphins and having the beach to yourself are but a few of the benefits.

My Top 5:

Fort Myers Beach Pier- a great destination for day and night, relaxing in the sun, strolling on the pier and beach, good choice of restaurants

Manatee Park – only worth visiting from late November to February, at least if you want to see some Manatees

Sanibel Lighthouse- first lighthouse on Floridas Gulf coast, nearly 100 foot tall and great for pictures

Bowman’s Beach- perfect for shelling, dolphin spotting and long walks (if you bring mosquito spray)

Naples Pier- historic pier, white sandy beach and a picturesque sunset
